The urban centres in the region have come a long way with a mix of the old historical cities and the modern skyscrapers to offer a beautiful cities. The most famous urban cities in Africa are Mombasa in Kenya and the Island of Zanzibar which emerged in the colonial period as centres of trade for the early settlers. These cities have grown overtime but the lingering beauty of the old buildings, castles and general settings have become today’s tourism heartthrob.
